Guide Note: Trapt, a grunge, rock band from Los Gatos California started playing music professionally before they had even graduated high school. They are currently based out of Vancouver, British Columbia.
History
Trapt was formed in 1995 with members Chris Brown, Simon Ormandy, Pete Charrell, and David Stege. They recorded two albums Glimpse and Amalgamation to sell strictly at shows they performed at local cubs and bars. Because of many missed rehearsals and bad feedback from fans, the decided to let David go. While searching for a replacement drummer the were signed with Warner Brothers Records and quickly found Robin Diaz to play drums for them on their debut release Trapt. As a thank you for letting him play on their album, Diaz hooked them up with their current drummer Aaron Montgomery.
In November of 2002 the album was released along with single "Headstrong". The single quickly rose to the #1 spot on the alternative charts and #16 on the pop charts. It also hit the #1 spot on the U.S Modern Rock Charts and the U.S Mainstream Rock Charts. The follow up singles "Echo" and "Still Frame" did well but never seen success like "Headstrong" did. "Still Frame" is included on the X-box video game Project Gotham Racing 2.
In September 2005, Trapt released their second album Someone In Control. It included the singles "Disconnected", "Stand Up" and "Waiting". The singles did not see nearly as much success as previous releases though "Stand Up" made it to #3 on the Mainstream Rock charts. Trapt toured in 2006 as supporting acts for Nickelback, Chevelle and Three Days Grace to promote themselves and their music.
