Thorsten Kaye is an American actor known in films, stage, and television. He was born in East Germany and raised in Mainz and London England. He was an avid rugby player and also participated in track. He was able to come to the USA on a track scholarship but later changed his mind and majored in drama and received his bachelor's degree in fine arts. He went to graduate school and earned his master's degree in theater and theater history.
Thorsten Kaye started his career by appearing in several classical theater roles some of which were Macbeth, Much Ado About Nothing, The Taming of the Shrew, and Twelfth Night.
In television he played professor Patrick Thronhart on One Life to Live. Later in his career he returned as Ian Thorhart on Port Charles and in the year 2000 and now he plays the role of Zach Slater on All My Children. In 2006 he was nominated for an Emmy as Outstanding Lead Actor for All My Children.
Thorsten Kaye has also written and published a book of poetry entitled, From Timber Ridge to Daymer Gardens with the widow of actor Lloyd Bridges, Dorothy Bridges. All the proceeds from the book along with a CD release goes to Give Kids the World charity.
He has also appeared in several feature films such as Law & Order, and Air America. He also had roles in Shark Attack, The Silencers, Deadly Desire, and The Bone Collector.
