Thaao Penghlis is an actor who was born inSidney, Australia and is of Greek descent. He was one of four children that were raised by Greek parents who immigrated from Greece to Sidney, Australia. He is fluent in both English and Greek.

Thaao Penghils studied art history and fashion in New York City. Milton Katselas who was his acting coach and theater director, encouraged him to pursue a career in drama. His New York stage debut was in the off-Broadway play Jocky's.

Back in Australia he played in the revival of Mission Impossible. In the USA he was featured in a number of crime dramas, such as Kojac, Cannon, Tenspeed and Brownshoe, Heart to Heart, Nero Wolf, and Magnum P.I. Thaao Penghliss was better known for his roles in daytime soap operas. One of the first soap operas he starred in was Santa Barbara. He also made an appearance on the soap General Hospital. His most noted role in playing the evil villain, Count Anthony DiMera on Days Of Our Lives as well as a look-alike cousin Andre. He left the show for a period of time but came back from the dead to reprise the role of Anthony in 2007 and won The Soap Digest Award for Favorite Return.

He is also while starring on Days, is planning a one-man show featuring himself in the starring role of Greek revolutionary, Alexander Panagoulis.

Taaho Penghliss travels have taken him across the Sinai Desert and up Mt. Sinai, but helped him in pursuing his love and interest in archeology as well as providing him with useful information for his screenplay.
