Syd Barrett was a founding member of the rock band Pink Floyd, performing on their 1967 debut album and first three singles. After two solo records he gave up making music, but his life and mental illness remained a subject of Pink Floyd's later music. Psychedelic Rock's most legendary recluse, he passed away in 2006.
