Guide Note:Supersaurus is a sauropod dinosaur that lived in the Jurassic Period. It was a huge dinosaur thought to have weighed less than a Brachiosaurus but larger than a blue whale. James A. Jensen was credited with it's discovery in Utah in 1972. Only a few bones were found in the first fossil remains. A more complete speciman was found in Wyoming and nicknamed "Jimbo". Originally the Supersaurus was thought to be related to the Barosaurus but is related more closely to the Apatosaurus.
