[edit] Using Templates

  • Many SeRPs within the same category (or vertical) use the same basic section headers. For example, most SeRPs in the Actors category follow the same format.
  • To save time, Templates exist to automatically generate section headers on a page. See the PTG Templates page for a list of available Templates.
  • To insert a Template on a page, click the green "edit" button on upper left-hand corner of the page, and then use the following tag:
    • {{subst:name of template}}
  • Save the page, and there are all the section headings! The name of the SeRP is automatically inserted into existing section headers.
  • If a particular SeRP seems to call for additional section headers, you can add them. However, check first if this new section can actually be a part of an existing section! If it is truly a new section for the page, please remember that section headers should have at least two links and typically no more than five -- six if truly essential.
