Guide Note: This is the travel page for St. Lucia Tours. A volcanic island country in the Lesser Antilles, St. Lucia is named after Saint Lucy of Syracuse. France and Great Britain fought for possession of the beautiful island fourteen times, which explains the unique blend of English and French culture which is found on the island. The most photographed sight on St. Lucia is the Piton's the two volcanic cones called the Gros Piton and the Petit Piton. It is not recommended that you try to climb the Petit Piton. The Gros Piton is an easier climb of about 2 hours. There is a small welcome center and permission to make the climb must be received by the Forest and Lands Department. You can take a bus tour with Sunlink Tours to another unique point of interest to the world's only drive through volcano, the Sulfur Springs at Soufriere. Another place of historical interest is Fort Rodney an old British Military Base.
