Guide NoteShadowrun is a Role-Playing game for the Nintendo SNES. It should not be confused with the Xbox 360 and Windows PC game of the same name. The game was developed by Beam Entertainment, which is now Krome Studios which is based in Melbourne, Australia. The game was published by now defunct Japanese company Data East, which was famous for their custom made pinball machines that were based on popular movie properties like Back to the Future, The Simpsons, Batman, and rock 'n roll group Guns 'N Roses. They had limited success in software and would eventually go bankrupt in 2003. Shadowrun was released in 1993.
Game Story: The main character of the game is Jake Armitage, which is made as an homage to a character in the William Gibson novel Neuromancer. The story takes place in Seattle where Jake is shot and wakes to find that he is missing his identity. Jake is mentioned as a "Shadowrunner", which is an mercenary. Through the game it is the player who helps Jake pick up the pieces to uncover who he really is. Lost: Via Domas has a similar game design though it is within the Lost universe. Although it is not the same Blade Runner would be a good similarity to this title as it has elements which shadow it.
Gameplay: Shadowrun is a combination a role playing game that has real time action. This means that the game requires quick reflexes as it is not a turn based game like Final Fantasy but more like Kingdom Hearts. Throughout the game Jake has the opportunity to hire Shadowrunner's as his henchmen to help through the game, though it is not necessary.
