Scott Baker is a Major League Baseball player currently pitching for the Minnesota Twins. Grew up in Shreveport, Louisiana and in 2000 was a graduate of Captain Shreve High School. To further his education he went to the Oklahoma State University, where he played college baseball. In his freshman year (2001) he was named Louisville Slugger Freshman All Star. He was selected by the Minnesota Twins in the 2005 MLB Draft. He struggled his first year in majors and was sent to AAA Rochester Red Wings in 2006. But was recalled back to majors in 2007 to replace Sidney Ponson who was released.
In his major league debut in 2007 he pitched eight and 12/3 innings but struggled next few games.
In August 2007, Baker was pitching against the Kansas City Royals, he came close to a perfect game but in the ninth inning he walked one and then the next batter got a single ending his no hitter bid. His fastball in the upper 80s and lower 90s with a good slider and curveball to go with his changeup. This pitcher is one to keep your eyes on, hes healthy and will go far. Baker and his wife LeAnn have a son born in 2005 by name Elijah.
