Sashimi
Guide Note:
- A Japanese specialty, Sashimi are thin slices of fresh fish, traditionally prepared to be 1 inch wide and 1.5 inches long, that are served with soy sauce, pickled ginger and wasabi.
Fast Facts:
- "Sashimi" is just the piece of fish without rice. "Sushi" actually refers to the vinegared rice that is sometimes served with the sashimi.
- Sashimi should be eaten with chopsticks. It is considered bad etiquette to eat it with fingers.
- Sashimi should be eaten with a small amount of soy sauce and wasabi.
