Ricky Steamboat is a retired wrestler.In 1976 Ricky made his debut with the American Wrestling Association He went under the names of The Dragon, Richard Blood , Rick Steamboat, Ricky Steamboat and Sam Steamboat Jr. He took the last name from a wrestler in Hawaii and wasn't related to him. His father was white, while his mother is Japanese American, and gave him the Asian features. Hence the nickname The Dragon, which he kept the remaining time as a wrestler. His finishing Maneuver were the Flying Body Pressand Superplex. Many of his matches can still be found on DVD's. His outfits had the Dragons on it and he wore Bright red long tights with it. His biggest rival was Ric Flair. They seem to draw a record crowds when ever a match was planned.
he has other feuds along the way with Don Muraco, Jake "The Snake" Roberts, and the "Macho Man" Randy Savage. In a bout with Steve Austin In the U.S. Championship which he won in 1994, but had to forfeit back within a month due to a back injury. He retired from wrestling after that. He now works as a Wrestling Road Agent. He currently resides in Charlotte, North Carolina
