Guide Note:
Prom Flowers are traditionally worn by both boys and girls at their Prom, a formal dance held at the end of an academic year. The boy's flowers are called boutonnieres and the girl's flowers are called corsages. Prom flowers come in many different types from elegant, sophisticated, to flirty and sassy, a style for everyone. Corsages a small bouquet of flowers worn at the shoulder, on a velvet ribbon around your neck, at your waist, wrist, ankle, pinned to handbag, or adorned in your hair. Two popular styles are wrist corsages and small hand-held nosegays. Boutonnieres, a single flower or small bunch of flowers worn in a buttonhole. Popular flowers are mini or sweetheart roses, standard roses, alstroemeria, dendrobium orchids, lilies and other small flowers such as freesias and cornflowers. Don't forget to preserve those lovely memories of prom night by drying your corsage or boutonniere. Some florist will freeze dry them, but it is expensive. If you have roses hang them upside down until dry, or you can press them in a book, be sure to wrap in paper to keep from staining pages in book. Another cool way is to spray the flowers with hair spray so that they harden (and have a protective shell) and keep their color. You can also pull the petals off of the roses and put in a bowl to dry, then add rose oil to them to make a potpourri.
