[edit] Guide Note
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Darkness is a children's role playing game for the Nintendo DS. This is the second title in the “Mystery Dungeons” series, and the opposite title of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time. This is akin to other releases such as Pokemon Red and Pokemon Blue which are similar but have different characters and minor changes in story. The game was developed by CHUNSOFT and published by Nintendo. The “Pokemon” series was and still is a very popular trading card game not only in North America but also in it’s country of origin; Japan.
The game centers around your player who has been turned into a Pokemon. You are found washed up on a beach, by a player who is in an exploration club named the “Wigglytuff Guild”. They in turn join forces against “Team Skull” to recover an acient relic called a “Relic Fragment”. Throughout the game the player gains the ability of seeing in to the future.
[edit] Gameplay
In Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Darkness the game play has not changed all that much from the first title ‘’Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Team’’. The Pokemon you turn into is based on a personality test that the player takes during the beginning of the game. New to the series is the “Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection” features, where players can be notified via the Wi-Fi Message Board system to alert them of friends who are in need of help. The game is a the same as it’s partner game ‘’Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time’’. The only major difference is the different amount of Pokemon, and multiple items made available. With that the games can be used with one another using Nintendo’s Wi-Fi set up. The storylines between the two games have not been changed at all.
