Michael Moorcock is an extremely prolific British science-fiction and fantasy writer, who has written over 80 books. These also include several literary novels, as well as books in comic form. While his fantasy novels are often epic tales that unfold in imaginary worlds, he has also explored the topic of alternative or speculative history with his science fiction works. In 2008, he was named Damon Knight Grand Master by the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America for his lifetime of contributions to the genre.
