Michael E. Knight is an American born film and television actor. As a young boy he attended a preparatory school where his father was a faculty member. He also got his scar on his chin from running into an "angry mailbox." He studied acting with Alan Savage who he credits for changing his life. Michael E. Knight was educated at The Thacher School in Ojai, California. He graduated from Wesleyan University in CT with a degree in theater. He graduated a year early. He also studied for a period of two years at the Circle in the Square Theater in New York.
He was signed to play Tad Martin on the television soap opera All My Children. He left the show in 1986 because he wanted the opportunity to try other acting venues. He starred in a feature film entitled Date With An Angel, and numerous other primetime appearances such as Murder She Wrote, Dear John, and Grapevine. Michael E. Knight also co-starred in the off-Broadway play Wrong Turn at Lungfish, and he was in the ABC moive for television, She Stood Alone, The Tailhook Scandal, and Cakewalkwith Linda Lavin.
He returned to All My Children in 1992 and has remained there up to this date of 2008. He came back and played the part of Tad Orsini from 1993-1994. He was honored with three Daytime Emmy Awards and he also received the Soap Opera Digest Award for Best Supporting Actor. In 2005 he was nominated again for outstanding leading actor.

He has been married for fourteen years to Catherine Hicks and they are now getting divorced. He is sorry that they never had children. They still will remain friends. They bother were honored in 1999 for their charitable work by the West End Intergenerational Residence in Manhatten.
