Guide Note Metal Slug Anthology is a video game created by SNK Playmore USA. The action video game brings together seven popular Metal Slug titles from the past and packages them into one CD. As with the custom Metal Slug games, players navigate through several native lands fending off monsters, opposing army militants and extra-large missile-carrying machines.
The gameplay is similar to the "Contra" series, in which players try to eliminate all of the enemies standing in their way in a side-scrolling affair. Players are armed with a regular gun and can earn power-ups along the way, including a blow torch, machine gun, shot gun and rocket launcher. Also, players can enter all-terrain vehicles, submarines and tanks that can eliminate enemies.
Storyline
Most of the games in the series involve the Peregrine Falcon Squad, a small group of soldiers that try to stop the army of General Donald Morden, who is striving to create a New World Order. In several games in the series, the P.F. Squad not only deals with Morden's army, but a race of aliens known as the Mars People.
