Guide Note:
Margaret Weis is a fantasy novelist who has been writing since 1984. She is best-known for co-authoring the central books of the Dragonlance series with Tracy Hickman. She also co-authored the popular Rose of the Prophet, Mag Force 7, Sovereign Stone and Draonvarld trilogies.
Weis is currently working with Tracy Hickman on Dragonships, which is a six-book novel series. The Dragonships series is being produced by Tor books, and the first title in the series is scheduled to be released by the end of 2008.
In addition to writing, Weis owns Margaret Weis Productions Ltd., which publishes RPG lines based on Battlestar Galatica, Castlemourn and Serenity. Weis was also the former owner of the publisher of the Dragonlance line of RPG products, Sovereign Press Inc.
Before her writing career began, Weis worked from 1970 to 1983 for Herald Publishing House in Independence, Missouri.
