During his three years at the school he became part of the baseball team and was named in 2005 as a third-team All-American by Baseball America
n the 2005 Major League Baseball Draft, Slowey was selected as the 73rd pick in the 2nd round by the Minnesota Twins.
Failing to make the team out of spring training as a dark horse candidate, he was sent to AAA Rochester Red Wings. On June1, 2007, was called up
and made his Major League debut. After another brief stink with the minors, Slowey is now in the rotation lineup. A low 90s fastball that is considered to be his best pitch,
but is considered to be a control pitcher.
A strained right biceps pulled him from game last week, but should be back in the pitching rotation soon.
