Guide Note:
Joe Meek was an important figure of the British rock & roll. He was record producer and songwriter and his best-known work was The Tornados' "Telstar" which became # 1 in the US Hot 100 (one year before The Beatles). He became an innovator of modern music to make use of electronic sounds in his album I Hear a New World. Meek committed suicide with a gun in 1967.
