Jeff Ruland is an assistant coach of the Philadelphia 76ers. He coached for Iona College from 2000 to 2007.1 Following the 2007 collegiate season, he coached for Albuquerque of the NBA developmental league.2

[edit] NBA Career
Jeff Ruland was drafted by the Golden State Warriors in the second round of the 1980 NBA draft. He decided to play one year in Spain and in 1981 was traded to the Washington Bullets. Jeff Ruland was traded to the 76ers in 1986 for Moses Malone. He played in only five games before retiring due to injury. Jeff Ruland came out of retirement in 1991, but played in just thirteen games before tearing his Achilles tendon. In the 1992-93 season, Jeff Ruland played in eleven games for the Detroit Pistons. His playing career ended after being waived by the Pistons in January 1993.1

Jeff Ruland was named to the NBA All-Rookie Team in 1982. He was selected to the Eastern Conference All-Star team twice while playing for the Washington Bullets. He had his best season statistically in 1984-85, averaging 22.2 points per game, 12.3 rebounds per game and making 57.9 percent of his shot attempts.1
