Ingrid Michaelson is a singer-songwriter who has done music for television shows and spots on TV. Ingrid stems from a family of artists. Her mother is a sculptress and her father is composer of classical music. She began with the lessons of piano when was 5 years old. To the age of 7 she entered in Manhattan' s Third Street Music School and continued studying in Jewish Community Center of S.I.' s Dorothy Delson Kuhn Music Institute. In this place she met Elizabeth McCullough who gave her vocal lessons. In addition, she completed her studies in theatre in Staten Island Technical High School and Binghamton University. Also she toured with a national theater troupe where she spent her free time composing songs which were compiled in her debut album Girls and Boys released in 2007 by Michaelson' s label, Cabin 24 Records. Three months later she won national contest of composition sponsored by Mountain Stage and produced by West Virginia Public Broadcasting. She has appeared on some television shows as Good Morning America, Live with Regis and Kelly, VH1, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, NPR's Bryant Park Project and also on the Carson Daly show.
