Guide Note: Eric Lindell is a American singer songwriter from San Mateo, California. He grew up as a self described "skater punk" in California's bay area. He began playing in bands at age 15 and lists Fishbone and Black Flag as his influences. Lindell started playing in bars, first as a guitarist then as a bassist, while working as a baker to make ends meet.
After a brief stay in New York City he moved to New Orleans Louisiana in 1999. Since living there his creativity has flourished and it shows in his work. He has perfomed with many legends there including Stanton Moore, and Ivan Neville.
By 2005 his popularity on the New Orleans blues scene became so prominent that he gained the attention of Brandford Marsalis, The Neville Brothers and John Scofield who often attended his shows. He also grabbed the attention of Alligator Records who signed him to a contract in 2006.
Since the release of his debut album Change in The Weather, Eric has received nothing but praise from critics and fans alike for his combination of swamp pop, R&B and blues.
In October of 2007 Eric performed on the legendary Rhythm and Blues Cruise. He was included in a line up consisting of blues legends Elvin Bishop, Bobby Rush, Lowrider Band and Johnny Lee Hooker Jr. He is currently touring in support of his newest release Low on Cash, Rich in Love.
