Guide Note: Eagles are characterized from other birds of prey by their heavy head and bill, large wingspan, and powerful build. Eagles have been on the endangered list since 1967, in mid 2007 they have now become repopulated enough to drop off the list, but the eagle is still protected under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act.
