Guide Note:Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King is a role playing game for the Sony Playstation 2. It was developed by popular role playing game developer Level 5. Level 5 is also responsible for other popular role playing franchises like Dark Cloud. The designers and creators for Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King are Yuji Horii, Akira Toriyama, with music composer Koichi Sugiyama. With their combined talents, they have created mega popular franchises like Chrono Trigger, and Dragon Ball Z. The game was published by role playing giant Square Enix. Square Enix has produced games along with Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King, the Dragon Quest series, Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger, and Kingdom Hearts.
Series History:This is the first Dragon Quest title to be released on the Sony Playstation 2. Not only that but this is the first time that it is being called by it's original name(Dragon Quest), rather than it's previous American name; Dragon Warrior.
GamePlay: Game play for Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King works a lot like the Final Fantasy series of games. It uses the turn based system of game play. This is the first title in the series to get a graphics revamp, and a new skill point system to learn new abilities.
