Guide Note:Cleopatra VII Thea Philopator (69bc-30bc) co-ruled Egypt with her father, Ptolemy XII, and later with her brothers, Ptolemy XIII and Ptolemy XIV. After a power struggle with Ptolemy XIII for sole control of the throne a civil war broke out in Egypt. It wasn't until she allied herself with Julius Caesar that she was able to run her brother off and take Egypt for herself. She was the last of the Ptolemaic rulers and considered the last pharaoh of Egypt.
