Cat on a Hot Tin Roof is a four act play by Tennessee Williams. It recounts a day in the life of a wealthy Mississippi family. They have gathered to celebrate the birthday of patriarch, "Big Daddy" Pollitt, recently diagnosed with cancer.
The play focuses on the turbulent relationship of son Brick and his wife Maggie, as well as the family member's efforts to assure themselves their portion of Big Daddy's fortune after his death. All of these elements combine to make up one of Tennessee Williams most famous dramatic works.
