Califone is an band founded by Tim Rutili after the band Red Red Meat was disbanded. Initially Tim began the project alone, using his computer to make the sounds. Soon, many wanted to join the project (some members of Red Red Meat and bands of Chicago). Its music is characterized for being inspired in the experimental music and folk style. Its more important album has been The Heron King that was released in 2004.
