Anti-Flag is a punk band that is characterized for possessing music that differs of political ideologies, racism, religion, nationalism, and fascism. It was founded in 1988 and during that time many members entered and left in the band. It was even in 1993 that the group was established with the integration of Andy Flag on bass. In 1996 they released their debut album Die for the Government but in that same year Andy left the band by personal problems. Sean Whelan substituted him in the bass and also introduced the guitarist Chris Head. In 1999 the band released their album A New Kind of Army. In 2000, they maintained friendship with the owner of Fat Wreck Chords and in 2001 they released the album Underground Network. In 2002 released Mobilize on their label A-F Records. During the 11th terrorist attacks in United States, the band harshly criticized the American government which caused that music stores pulled theirs records and the band was called "anti-American". In 2003 they released the album called The Terror State where the group attacked Bush administration and the War on Terrorism. In 2005 they signed with label RCA and released two albums, one of them was For Blood and Empire. Their latest album will be release in April 2008 and will be entitled The Brights Lights of America. The single from this album, The Brights Lights of America, was released on iTunes on February 12, 2008.
