Guide Note: Amy Madigan has won two Golden Globe Awards, Two CableACE Awards and has been nominated for an Academy Award, two Independent Spirit Awards, and two Satellite Awards. Amy Madigan grew up in Chicago and studied at the Chicago Conversatory and philosphy at Marquette University. For ten years she was touring as a rock musician. Being the daughter of WBBM's,John Madigan,whose famous sign off at the station was, "Sssssseventy-eight," was exposed to many different media outlets which enabled her to form strong view points on a variety of subjects. She has served on the national board of NARAL Pro-Choice America. Amy and her husband, Ed Harris protested at the 2000 Academy Awards by not clapping during Elia Kazan's acceptance of his honorary Oscar because of Kazan's contribution to the Hollywood blacklisting during the Cold War. Amy is most recognized for her role as Annie Kinsella in the movie, Field of Dreams.
